Welcome to Togetherhood!
The Togetherhood initiative is anchored by a group of non-profit agencies whose vision is to leverage services within, and beyond, the building that they collaboratively occupy in Collier County and serve pockets of the community whose needs are high in our areas of focus.
Together they will utilize their professional expertise with a holistic approach in these areas of focus: food for health and nutritional services; programs around physical fitness and safety; education, resources and programs focused on chronic diseases with health screenings, clinical education, medical therapy and medical/wellness supplies and scholarships for those in need.
“What we’re doing is creating a social activation of wellness, this is what that is all about. This is the starting point of the social activation of wellness."
Chuck Gillespie, CEO, National Wellness Institute
“It’s hard because transportation and distance alone is a barrier on top of financial barriers, ethnicity barriers because there are populations that are higher risk for different complications of health, so, that’s important to realize, and anything we can do to improve (their) access to care is going to be a benefit"
Dr. Angelina Bernier, Pediatric Endocrinologist, University of Florida
“What a wonderful opportunity, this is just the beginning and it’s going to be the start of something unique”
Dr Salvatore Anzalone, Medical Director for Pediatrics, Healthcare Network
“Togetherhood is absolutely innovative and timely. Communities like Immokalee have tremendous disparities in healthcare, housing, education, and economics. Our Society of Physician Entrepreneurs Chapter is enthusiastic about the potential this collaboration offers through services that have proven results in mitigating health costs through early intervention programs and education”
Carmen Scott Dawson, Chapter President, South Florida Society Of Physician Entrepreneurs
“We’d never thought we’d be in this situation, we could get sick, and we don’t know where to go, the farthest medical care you got to go 20 to 30 miles, and now for the Togetherhood Initiative Center to be opening here is a blessing to our community, thank you (sir) for giving us opportunity"
Danny Gonzalez, Immokalee Easten Chamber President
“Serving as a medical oversight physician during the most recent hurricane outreach effort proved to me just how critical the Togetherhood Initiative is. So many that live with diabetes were left without medical care, or insulin. The Togetherhood Initiative's collaboration and response time saved lives."
Dr. John Querci, DDC Health Care
“The Togetherhood Initiative is a great example of how when several different agencies come together, they can create something that can really make an impact in the community."
John M. Drew, Organizational Planning & Development Program Consultant, FDOH Collier County
